48 Five Questions about Lyme Disease.
Suppose you or a family member contracted Lyme Disease...do some online research (cite your sources), and prepare useful answers to these 4+1 questions.
1.  What is Lyme Disease?
2.  What happens to people with Lyme Disease?
3.  Can Lyme disease be cured?
4.  How is Lyme disease treated?
5.  How much influence should insurance companies have in determining which treatments patients should have?

o    What is a spectrophotometer and how does it work?

  • Describe and sketch the design of the experiment
  • Sketch the 3 graphs in “Analysis of Results II”
  • Complete the self-quiz and record your results (and yes, you can take it more than once if you need to!!)

  • Equation labeled from key concepts
  • answer to question from  "process of respiration"
  • Sketch with labels from "a closer look at respiration" (use color!!!)
    • Include information on what you learn from animation
  • Question and possible answers from “Design of the Experiment”
  • Sketch of apparatus from “features and functions of a respirometer”
  • What was the reading from the pipette?
  • Briefly describe how to assemble a respirometer (use pictures if that is helpful)
  • Why might the lab hints give you more accurate results?
  • Briefly describe (again sketch if it is easier) how to measure the rate of respiration
  • What is the answer in “Analysis of Results I”? How did you get those results?
  • What was your score on the self-quiz? (you can always take it more than once!!)

Work for the week of Feb 4th

I will be gone Mon, Tues and Wed.  Here is what you need to work on while I am gone (these are not in the order you have to complete them, you can work in whatever order you like)

Campbell Biology site


Chapter 6
  • complete Bioflix (can work together on this -- except for the quiz)
    • put flowchart on pg 30 (click here for a copy)
    • Also complete the quiz attached (will have to do this one individually since it doesn't allow for adding names)
  • Complete all activities and the 3 key concept quizzes for the chapter

Chapter 7
  • All activities (6 total) and all key concept quizzes (5 total)
Go to the lab bench site (click here) to complete lab #4 and 5 (photosythesis and cellular respiration)

As you are working on computer stuff, you also need to work on pages in notebook on photosynthesis and cellular respiration :)
