Just as an FYI, I ended up throwing out 8 questions from the final. So the total is out of 50 points instead of 58. The highest score was a 49.
Over winter break, go to the zoo or on a hike, or to a museum or something cultural. Bring proof that you went, along with a paragraph talking about what you saw/learned and why it was fun or important to go.
Happy Holidays!! Be safe :)

Final
Final test will be Wednesday December 19th. It will be a 60 question multiple choice test. Complete the "Student Self Assessment" to help study for the test.
Use the Campbell Biology site to help study (Chapters 1, 4, 5, 13, 14, & 15)
Another really great site goes along with the Mader Biology book. Click here for access. It has some great animations, but they don't yet have quizzes attached. The earlier edition of the book does (click here for access to that edition)
The basic concepts are

Fixing things
Grades are now completely updated.
Go to helpful links for the student view page to check your grade
If you are missing something, now is the time to fix it! :)
To fix the 5 point quizzes (diffusion, osmosis, etc) -- click here
For the Chapters on Campbell biology, if you did not receive 100% that is because you are either missing parts or didn't get 100% on each key concepts quiz. click here to fix those.

Catch up day
Today is the day to fix things in the notebook and on the Campbell site.
You should have two stamps on every page up to page 94. If you don't go back and fix the pages so that I can check them before the end of the week.
Also, you should have Chapters 13, 14, 15, 4 & 5 done in Campbell Biology. If you have anything less than a 80% on any one of the tests or quizzes RE-DO them!!! :)
(if you complete the entire chapter tests and get at least an 80% I will give you bonus points)
If you have everything done, move onto Chapter 6 on the Campbell biology site

osmosis diffusion lab take 2
Since the other attempt was an epic failure, we are trying something different
1.0 M sucrose solution = 171g of sucrose + 500 mL of distilled water
then dilute to get the other needed solutions
0.8 M solution = 100mL of stock (1.0 M solution) + 25 mL of distilled water
0.6 M solution = 75mL of stock + 50mL of distilled water
0.4 M solution = 50mL of stock + 75mL of distilled water
0.2 M solution = 25mL of stock + 100mL of distilled water
Once solutions are prepared, cut six 12" sections of dialysis tubing and soak it
then follow the directions on the lab

Animations for cell transport
click here for access to animations on cell transport and cellular processes that have to do with the cell membrane. Each animation has a quiz at the end. E-mail your results to me. The side toolbar has multiple animations, I would go through as many as you can.
Another excellent resource is the Mader Biology site.
It has some great animations and resources that the Campbell site may not have. Chapters 4 & 5 have to do with the cell and its functions.
